Before I even begin to design a course, I need to understand the topic. Here is my favorite prompt for that:
"I want to learn about [insert topic]. Please identify and share the most important 20% of information that will help me understand 80% of it."

I took the PPT slides I got from my subject matter expert, attached the file to Chat GPT and used the following prompt:
"Take on the role of an instructional designer tasked with building an online course in Articulate Rise 360. Use the content from the attached document to organize and write clear, engaging lesson content that follows Articulate Rise best practices. Structure the material into logical lessons and sections that support learner understanding and engagement."
I wanted to add scenarios to help reinforce and apply the content.
"Write a scenario for lessons 2-5. Each scenario should describe a specific type of laboratory and a common situation or challenge in the biopharma industry that relates to the lesson content. Make sure the scenario highlights typical problems professionals might face. Then, create a knowledge check question to assess learners’ understanding of how to address the situation described in the scenario."
Once I had the content and scenarios, I developed the course in Articulate Rise. I also used ChatGPT to help write key course details, such as the course description, which I provided to the team responsible for uploading the course to our LMS.
